About
Maryanne Nicholls completed her Masters at Norwich School of Art. She lives in Aldeburgh, and works from her studio at home. The discipline of drawing and the study of anatomy are central to her practice. Rapid sketches inform larger-scale drawings, paintings and sculptures. For those, layers of spontaneous marks are used to capture the movement and physicality of the subject, be it the human form or the surrounding landscape.
Her work has featured in exhibitions across the country and her large, resin sculptures can be found in private gardens in England and abroad. Her ceramics can currently be seen at 8 Holland Street in London and Bath.
