About
Megan Stallworthy trained in bookbinding over 30 years ago, and has been making and repairing books and teaching bookbinding ever since.
Working from her studio near the Devon and Somerset border, Megan makes books by hand using traditional bookbinding techniques and archival materials, with a contemporary feel. She teaches workshops in both traditional and contemporary bookbinding, and works with artists, designers and photographers making books.
Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of paper, linen and leather, Megan aims to make books that feel calm and subtle, brought to life by areas of colour, pattern or texture. The tactile nature of a book is also important to her; there is something so magical about the feel of a book in your hands and the movement of the turning pages. Megan’s books are above all practical- made to be used and to last.
