About

Natascha Maksimovic is working in the time-honoured art form of ‘Suminagashi’ marbling, blurring the traditional boundaries of craft and art. Embracing the spirit of innovation, Natascha’s creations are a captivating fusion of heritage and modernity. Drawing inspiration from the rich legacy of ‘Suminagashi’, each art piece tells a story of avant-garde colours, mesmerising patterns, and the interplay between fluidity and intention.
Natascha’s work has won the Best Wallpaper award at the Homes & Gardens Awards 2024 and she has been awarded the prestigious QEST scholarship grant in Autumn 2024. Additionally, her book “Paper Marbling: Learn in a Weekend” was published by Skittledog, an imprint of Thames & Hudson.
She collaborated with Molton Brown Ltd for their festive branding and marbling designs, while her ongoing exhibition “Memory Landscapes” has been showcased at Dory’s Restaurant in Margate since March 2024. In 2023, Natascha collaborated with Knots Rugs to create eight bespoke abstract marble and ink designs for a collection of hand-knotted rugs, which won the Best Rug award at the LivingEtc Awards 2024. She also partnered with Decorex for their 2023 show, providing imagery and branding used throughout their marketing materials.
