Oriel Zinaburg is an Israeli-born artist who studied fine art in Jerusalem and architecture at the Architectural Association in London. Working primarily in ceramics, he creates large-scale vessels using press-mould and hand-building techniques. His practice draws inspiration from landscapes and rock formations, and in particular on memories of travelling through Israel’s Negev desert. His work considers the desert as a landscape that seems to suspend movement and time, using clay as a way to investigate the relationships between place, memory, and the enduring passage of time.
