About

Japanese-born, UK-based jeweller Rie Taniguchi creates intricate silver pieces inspired by endangered and overlooked life forms. She combines traditional silversmithing methods such as press forming, raising and carving with a strong narrative focus, using her work to raise awareness of biodiversity. Rie trained at London Guildhall University and has exhibited at Goldsmiths’ Fair since 2007. She was awarded First Prize at the Lapponia Art Competition in Finland. Her jewellery blurs the line between wearable object and miniature sculpture—playful, complex and rooted in observation of the natural world.

Rie is exhibiting at FORGE in the ‘London Calling’ Jewellery Showcase
