About

Rose Fulbright is an award-winning artist and designer, with artistic family roots in Portmeirion in Wales and the ceramics industry in the Potteries, has a deep connection with form, colour and pattern.
Her career includes over ten years as designer, creative and art director of her eponymous slow loungewear brand Rose Fulbright, during which time she lived and worked in Beijing for four years, followed by Brussels for five years. Rose now lives in London and is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Fine Art at London’s City and Guilds School of Art.
In 2024 she was appointed as a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Painters and Stainers. Rose is interested in the preciousness and wonder of the human body and the connection between the physical and the conscious.
With a BA in Costume Design from the London College of Fashion, her interest in the theatrical and how identity is formed is expressed through paintings of her own experiences of being embodied in nature and interacting with materials.
These ideas around phenomenology are portrayed through the painting on tactile surfaces, from wood and walls to canvas and silk.
Collaboration is necessary throughout life – with our bodies, our minds, other people, the planet and our immediate surroundings. Areas of Rose’s work have evolved through collaboration with dancers, musicians and other visual artists, as well as her two children.
Rose’s work invites a collaboration and communication with the audience – wall hung paintings, wall hangings, painted antique furniture and bespoke printed fabrics work to form ‘sets’ and ‘props’ to immerse viewers in her world, from a painted chair that invites to rest, to a silk hanging that calls to be touched.
