About
Sarah McCartney started creating fragrances seriously in 2011 after writing a short novel featuring a perfumer and deciding to make the scents she had imagined for her story. As her friends, family and total strangers showed far more interest in her perfumes than her writing, she started blending while still working as a copywriter and business language trainer. In 2013 fragrance won, and she set up 4160Tuesdays in a small West London studio.
From the beginning she has shared her discoveries about this very secretive profession, encouraging people to make their own fragrances, and guiding them through the barriers to setting up their own businesses. Discovering this, fragrance journalist Alice de Parc spontaneously named her the Fragrance Fairy Godmother.
Sarah’s 2025 projects including Graceland for estate of Elvis Presley, Vianne’s Confession for author Joanne Harris to accompany her novel, Vianne, the origin story to Chocolat, and Lidl’s vial croissant perfume.
