About

Stephen Cox is a sculptor whose work has been hugely inspired by Indian spiritual traditions. He has been visiting the country for decades, particularly Mahabalipuram. The British artist is best known for his large stone sculptures in alabaster, granite, marble, and porphyry. Cox is a Royal Academy of Arts member and was elected Senior RA in 2022. He has created site-specific pieces in Italy, India, and Egypt, drawing on indigenous materials to create contemporary works that resonate with historical and cultural connotations. Some of Cox’s works are also part of EVOKE London’s sister gallery KAASH’s collection and rest in the KAASH space in Bengaluru.
For the first time, Cox has worked with the craft of Bidriware on a range of limited-edition sculptures facilitated by EVOKE London’s sister gallery KAASH.
