About

Suzanne Seed is an award-winning professional silversmith and jeweller creating timeless well-made designs by hand using the traditional heritage craft of silversmithing. Architecture underpins her designs; Inspired by the texture and forms of C20th Industrial Brutalist structures Suzanne creates timeless, tactile functional objects with bold clean lines designed to be enjoyed for generations. A pleasure to hold and interact with, her designs are made with integrity.
Suzanne exclusively uses recycled materials. In 2024 she was awarded Arts Council England funding to develop her creative practice, and now she is looking forward to exploring a change of direction by creating non-functional items as part of a new collection to be launched at London Craft Week.
With a BA Hons in Silversmithing, Goldsmithing and Jewellery (UCA) and an MA in Creative Entrepreneurship with distinction (UEA), she continuously strives to develop her technical skills and creative designs, progressing her practice with regular training under master silversmiths.
Suzanne splits the time between working on her own practice, creating designs in her workshop, and teaching silversmithing and jewellery to all levels. Silversmithing is an endangered craft, which she feels a custodian of.
She enjoys helping others to find a love of silversmithing too, to help keep the historic craft alive: “It’s that connection between the head and the hands; you design something, you create it, you put your heart and soul into it. You have a relationship with the silver, going through highs and lows together. As the design evolves it develops a personality which starts to shine through. Creating something that didn’t previously exist, with your own hands, and knowing it will last for generations, centuries and beyond is something I am incredibly proud of.”
