About
Valeria Leonova is a practitioner of the Ukrainian folk art style of Petrykivka. She is also a children’s book illustrator, having illustrated more than 80 books for authors worldwide.
Valeria experienced forced migration with her family due to the war in Ukraine. Her painting ‘Birds of Peace‘ developed with the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, was produced as as part of the Crafting Heritage project, a partnership between Cartwheel Arts and Heritage Crafts. Now living in Macclesfield, she believes that art and crafts can make this world a better place for everyone.
