About
Yaerin Pyun’s making process is quite unique. She is inspired by the details offered by nature. Yaerin’s practice translates fragments of nature into ceramics-stones, moss, flowers, and snow-covered surfaces. She captures the forms of rocks shaped by erosion, compression, solidification, and weathering, while simultaneously preserving the fleeting and fragile essence of organic life.
In this context, her works serve as an archival repository, preserving recollected memories, myths, and histories. Dualities such as life and death, beauty and transience, and momentary and eternity, weave narratives that reflect shared trajectories in nature and human life.
