Join the founder of Women in Sneakers, Stephanie Hulbert-Thomas as she sits down with Helen Kirkum for an informal discussion about the studio’s process and ideas. Helen Kirkum Studio explores the processes of wearing and making in all its products. Utilising recycled and dead stock materials, the studio creates artisanal and authentic bespoke sneakers and other items. The talk will delve into all aspects of the studio, from the process of collecting and reusing recycled sneakers to the stories behind each bespoke pair. Exploring the ideas behind designing through making and championing handmade, small scale production. Lastly, the discussion will touch on the studio’s visions for the future and bold ambitions within the industry. Helen and Stephanie first connected through the Instagram sneaker community and their shared experiences as female leaders in the space. The 45 minute talk will be an intimate and informal chat with the chance for questions at the end.
