About
Colour Squatters is a new textiles company from interior designer Jill Macnair and textiles designer Pablo Di Francesco. Launching with a core collection of tablecloths, the brand also specialises in bespoke fabrics custom-made for specific projects.
For London Craft Week, Colour Squatters has collaborated on two one-off printed cushions for Another Country which draw on the colours of Dorset, the furniture company’s home county. Borrowing tones from land and sea, the designers created a palette to carry through both prints – Offcuts and Egon – so that the cushions can be easily mixed if desired. Organic forms underpin the design of Offcuts in a design that is reminiscent of the sea, while Egon features stronger angles, nodding to the sculptural rock formations of the Jurassic Coast.
In line with Another Country’s Natural Home philosophy, Colour Squatters fabric is GOTS certified, which means the fabric is organic, non-toxic and has been made in an ethical environment. The inks used are OEKO-Tex certified, and water based. The machine used to print the fabrics also has an Eco Passport certification for its sustainability.
Pablo Di Francesco has been designing textiles for luxury fashion for over a decade and has created iconic collections presented in catwalks globally. Jill Macnair’s interior design work has been published in Elle Decoration and described by The Modern House as ‘thoughtfully tailored interiors that focus on liveability and beauty’.
