About
A London-based artist and maker, Annie Strachan creates sculptural objects that sit between art, craft and functional design. Working from her garden studio, she produces original pieces by hand, transforming unexpected and undervalued materials into distinctive objects through process, texture and form.
Drawing on her training in ceramics and sculpture at Chelsea College of Art & Design, Strachan combines techniques from slab building and woodworking. Her work is influenced by architectural movements such as Modernism and Postmodernism, as well as the theatrical materiality of mid-century film set design.
She has collaborated with and been commissioned by organisations including Selfridges, London Design Fair, the Museum of the Home and Van Gogh House. In 2024 she was named one of House & Garden magazine’s Design 100.
