About
This programme presents a dynamic craft demonstration alongside a participatory micro-workshop inspired by the construction methods of wooden hollow surfboards (WHS). Translating the rib-and-stringer logic of surfboard making into an accessible format, the session introduces modular assembly techniques using digitally fabricated components and sustainable sheet materials such as plywood and cork.
Anchored by a full surfboard craft system on display, the programme offers insight into how traditional making principles can be reinterpreted through contemporary processes and materials. Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with these ideas through hands-on interaction.
As part of the experience, participants will work with scaled craft translation objects – small curved accessory trays derived from the same structural and geometric principles, offering a tactile and approachable entry point into this innovative craft practice.
