WHISPERer, presented by SPIRA9 as part of London Craft Week 2026, is a curated exhibition exploring craft as a quiet dialogue between material, gesture, and time. Bringing together interdisciplinary artists across traditional and digital practices, it reveals how repetition, process, and materials shape meaning through contemporary acts of making.

About

WHISPERer is a curated exhibition presented by SPIRA9 as part of London Craft Week 2026, exploring quiet intelligence within acts of making. Craft is a quiet language shaped by touch, repetition and dialogue between maker and material. WHISPERer explores these conversations, revealing rhythms, patterns and gestures shaping meaning.

Presented during London Craft Week 2026, the exhibition brings together international artists working across interdisciplinary and experimental craft practices. From textiles, ceramics, metalwork, jewellery to installation, digital systems, generative processes, immersive media, participating artists expand craft beyond traditional boundaries. Craft is understood as evolving engagement between material, process, technology and idea.

Across the exhibition, materials carry memory, labour and time. Repetition becomes rhythm; rhythm becomes structure. Through weaving, forming, coding, assembling, and transforming materials, artists reveal meaning emerging through attentive making. Some works explore intuition and system; others uncover patterns in natural growth, cultural traditions and technological processes. Together, they present craft as a living interdisciplinary practice shaped by tradition and experimentation.

We invited international artists working across interdisciplinary, experimental, boundary-pushing media including BC da Ghondi, Bindu Kasinadhuni, Cecilia Hsi Hu, Divya Vinod Gilatar, Emma (Xinyan) Gu, Eva the Weaver Studio, Fangjing Hu, Greg Kent, Huiyuan Zhang, Jingya Yang, Jingyi Gao, Qiyue Huang, Zoumin Gong, Jie Dong, Shicen Lin, Jonathan Sapir, Junyi Qi, Kate Hassett, Lee Ko, Lizzie Hill, Mercury. N, Minjeong Kim, Mohamed Ahnach, Naomi Riley, Poppy Becke, SHARON HARTIGAN, Shabnam Moinzadeh, Sheida Moinzadeh, Sung Jin Kim, Tianle Zhao, Trinity Brookes, Xixi Xu, Yimeng Liu, Yvette Yujie Yang, Zimeng Zhang

Inspired by natural systems, cycles of growth, repeating structures and evolving forms, WHISPERer considers making as a living process. Each gesture grows from the previous; repetition becomes rhythm, rhythm becomes structure. Works invite viewers to slow down and notice invisible architectures: patience of process, intelligence of materials, devotion embedded in making.

Presented during London Craft Week 2026, WHISPERer offers space for reflection within the city rhythm, where visitors listen to the subtle language of craft and rediscover poetry within creation.
