About

TOAST collaborates with textile artist Ellen Mae Williams on an exhibition in response to their season theme, Open Water. See a range of Ellen’s new works at their Mayfair store, from a window installation to textile artworks scattered throughout the shop space. The pieces have been created through a range of techniques, including shibori dip-dyeing and painting with natural dye inks.

Having graduated with a Masters in Textiles from the Royal College of Art, Ellen creates hand-dyed and hand-painted fabric works using traditional methods. She uses mark making to interpret the natural environment through colour, texture and composition.

Alongside the exhibition, Ellen is also running drop-in abstract watercolour workshops to demonstrate how to paint onto fabric and paper using natural dye inks. The workshops are open to all — no previous experience is required.
