About

Launching at Rialto, the new Hackney based design space, during London Craft Week (13th – 19th May) is ‘Meld’, an experimental mirror and lighting collection by ceramicist Emma Louise Payne and glassmaker Phoebe Stubbs.

Sculptural and functional, the collection incorporates a floor lamp, table lamp, cocktail lamp and series of mirrors. Formed from textural, ceramic-glazed stoneware segments combined with silky hand blown glass, the process-driven designs showcase simple shapes in earthy tones that allow the textures of the materials to shine through.

The ‘Floor Light’ and ‘Table Light’ are formed of ceramic sections that can be stacked to accommodate a desired number of lights and create a tailored glow. The ‘Mirror’ and ‘Wall Light’ are designed to work alone or together as a vanity set in a bathroom. The ‘Cocktail Lamp’ is a sculpture piece that sets the ambience in any room, whether cosy or romantic, residential or commercial.
