About
The Prince’s Foundation aims to inspire a future generation of artists, craftspeople, designers and makers to develop solutions for a sustainable planet. Through a series of workshops which celebrate the work of their built environment and textile programmes, participants can gain an insight into the work of the foundation.
The long-running Building Craft and Building Arts programmes bring together a diverse cohort of students, including carpenters, masons, glassworkers, blacksmiths, ceramicists, furniture makers, printmakers and more. Through working collaboratively and learning alongside other like-minded people, students acquire a dialogue which reaches across these disciplines.
The Future Textiles programme provides industry technical skills training and work-based learning that develops skills, supports career choices and routes into employment. The foundation delivers workshops that focus on technical skills and traditional crafts including sewing, embroidery, knit and woven textiles. The Modern Artisan project is focused on developing the skills of graduates with small-batch production skills for the luxury market, with a strong spotlight on sustainability.
During London Craft Week, the Prince’s Foundation are providing the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of their programmes, delivering a series of workshops facilitated by Prince’s Foundation tutors and programme alumni.
