About
Andy Yeo – Lacquer threading (qi xian diao), once used for ceremonial effigies and religious iconography, is now a rare craft in Singapore – sustained by its sole practitioner, Andy Yeo. A former interior designer, Andy shifted paths in 2015 to pursue heritage restoration. In 2022, he travelled to Kaoshiong, Taiwan to learn lacquer threading, returning with new tools, materials, and a renewed mission to keep tradition alive by evolving it.
