Carolyn Tripp BA(Hons) , CPA, is a classically trained ceramic artist. She throws in porcelain at her south London studio, creating shapes clearly influenced by her interest in traditional Chinese and Japanese ware. Her decorative process involves the making and then tearing of beautiful pattern to create abstract meaning in response to both childhood memory and historical reference. Stories are recorded on paper then torn apart and rewoven onto each surface. With its ability to create intrigue, alongside craftsmanship, Carolyn’s work sits comfortably within the field contemporary applied art ceramics.
