About
Li Mengru is a Yi (Nuosu) craftswoman and a recognised bearer of Yi dress heritage. She has long been dedicated to the contemporary transmission and teaching of Yi embroidery and silverwork, and is currently a provincial-level assessor and instructor of Yi embroidery. Working with needle and thread alongside metalworking as her languages, she translates the structure, symbolism, and techniques of traditional motifs into craft objects that can be touched and worn today, while also systematising this knowledge into educational programmes designed for wider learning.
