About

Zara D’Abo, full time mother, former buyer, tv producer and cheese enthusiast, is the inspiration behind Acre and Holt which is based in Frome in Somerset where she has lived for over 20 years. Her motto, ‘buy less and choose well’, is the perfect encapsulation of Curator&Maker’s own ethos. Zara’s studio is attached to her house and is filled with patterns hanging from hangers, piles of material and sewing machines. Her love for the outdoors, the environment, and her aspiration for everything Acre and Holt that it must ‘last a lifetime and not cost the earth’ chimes with the timeless celebration of the outdoors and simpler ways that is at the heart of our theme for Spring 2024, ‘The Wind in the Willows’. For Curator&Maker she is making hard-wearing and practical clothing and unique garden accessories, with all materials sourced in Great Britain and the tailoring hand made by local artisans in Frome.
