Tom Faulkner, celebrated maker of metal furniture, hosts an exhibition in his Chelsea showroom of FIVE – a new silver and metal collective creating contemporary sculpture and objects. The exhibition will run from 9th – 14th May on a drop-in basis, where visitors will have the opportunity to explore FIVE’s creations.

Tom Faulkner’s eponymous brand celebrated its 25th birthday last year. During that time he has been creating design-led, high-end statement furniture for traditional and contemporary settings. Tom discovered metalwork in the 1990s and was intrigued by the material’s inherent combination of strength and malleability. He was fascinated by the possibilities it offered. Following this first discovery two decades ago, Tom has continued to explore the possibilities of form and shape. His workshop in Wiltshire is at the heart of the business – and everything in his collection is made there by hand.

FIVE is a brand new platform conceived by five makers determined to shine a spotlight on the craft of contemporary silversmithing and metalwork. FIVE 2022 is made up of UK-based silversmiths: Angela Cork, Jessica Jue, Ane Christensen, Patrick Davison, and Sheng Zhang. As a small and focused new collective, they present a curated concept in silver and metal. With a shared ethos revolving around precision and fine craftsmanship, the group applies contemporary ideas to traditional materials and techniques, challenging the preconceptions and expectations of tradition, value, and the use of silver and metal.
