About

Set against the backdrop of Dan Pearson’s courtyard garden at the Garden Museum, Darren Appiagyei showcases a variety of hand-woodworking techniques used in his practice in this drop-in demonstration.

Darren’s work embraces imperfection, placing emphasis on the analysis and malleability of the natural form to create functional, textural objects. Through emphasising knots, cracks and lack of symmetry, each piece is imbued with it’s own individual story: a celebration of difference.

If you miss the demonstration, Darren’s work is on display amongst the plants of the courtyard garden throughout London Craft Week.

Darren was featured in the Crafts Magazine most talented graduates (2018), and in 2019 he was selected for the Craft Council Hothouse Programme.
